I Am Retired!
So this school bus is a sign of my personal liberty.
I smile as I watch children load up and are taken away to school.
I smile and then continue on my morning walk.

It's Beginning!
The Rabbit Bush is blooming. One of the fall colors of Nevada highways... and a potent allergen.
My eyes are beginning to itch already.

Dad and Me
Dad and I on the Bristlecone Pine Trail... I have been thinking today of how much I am like Dad... I sound like him sometimes, I act like him sometimes, and I think like hime sometimes. Thanks Dad!

riding the dolphins
Cedar City has very nice parks and recreational facilities. This is Park Discovery... "disigned by kids..."
Benjamin and Emma had a great morning here.

some competition...
This little chipmunk is storing mouthfuls of millet seeds in our garden. We are getting little round patches of grain germinating...

My New Seer Stone
With all the talk of seer stones, here's my latest. I found it yesterday on my walk.
In it I see the billions of years of rock formation, plate tectonics, erosion. I see civilzations rising and falling as this rock was formed in an ocean, lake, or river bed. I see human evolution of brains and tools growing together to change the face of the earth... we began to play God when we first picked up a stone or a stick.
I see the analogy of this stone to me. I too am ordinary. There is nothing really special about me; but maybe I might catch the attention of someone for a moment or two before throwing back into the gravel.
This stone caught my eye, I picked it up and carried it home. It sits on my desk today, tomorow I will place it in my garden. And when I see it I will remember today.
